Détails que l'on ne remarque que de loin
Updated 24 October 2026.
onthepluto compares how outlets in different countries write about the same events. That needs no account, no name and no e-mail: the site asks for no personal data and keeps none.
There is no sign-up, no login and no personal account. We do not know who you are: no name, no e-mail address, no phone number. The games, the ranking and the sync between devices work with a random code kept in your browser that is not linked to a person.
localStorage and cookies hold your language, the hidden blocks of the home page, the stories you have read, your game answers and that random code. All of it can be wiped by clearing the site's data in your browser; the site keeps working.
We count visits with Yandex Metrica. For visitors from countries where this is required, the counter loads only after consent in the cookie notice; the choice can be changed via «Cookie settings» at the bottom of the page. Administrators are not counted.
Like any website, the server writes technical request logs: the address the request came from, the page and the browser. They serve to prevent abuse and to find errors, are kept for a limited time and are not matched with anything else. The site runs behind Cloudflare, which has its own privacy policy.
The channel and the bot @OnThePlutoBot run on the Telegram API. The sections chosen in «My feed» are stored on Telegram's side; the bot keeps no list of people and collects no contacts.
The project has the account @onthepluto.news on Threads (a Meta service). Through the official Threads API the project publishes its own posts, reads the statistics of its own posts and, with Meta's permission, searches public posts by keyword and reads the public profiles of news outlets, so that the project's owner can reply under their fresh posts. Of what is found, only the post's public data is stored: its address, the account name, the text, the time, the number of replies and likes — for 30 days, after which it is deleted. Only the project's owner sees this data; it is not published, not passed to third parties and not used for advertising. Private messages, private accounts and data about people unrelated to a public post are neither read nor stored.
Outlets' headlines, the names of public figures and photos from Wikipedia are shown as facts about the news, with a link to the source. If you believe something is shown wrongly, write to us.
Since the site stores no personal data, there is usually nothing to delete: the data in your browser you clear yourself. For any question, including the deletion of anything stored about a public Threads post, write to the bot @OnThePlutoBot on Telegram or to [email protected]. We answer and act on every reasonable request.
